INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF MoistYourMouth APPLIANCE

You have been fitted for an appliance which is designed to help relieve symptoms of dry mouth.  It is important that this appliance be adjusted initially by your dental professional and then, on occasion, checked for its effect on your soft tissues and teeth.

1. Prior to inserting the appliance, thoroughly wash your hands, brush and floss.

2. The Infusor should be filled with distilled water which can be purchased at any grocery store.

3. Approximately 30-40 cc of water should be placed in a  clean cup and then drawn up into the syringe. It is important that you not inject air into the Infusor,so tap syringe on a hard surface to push air out.  Replace the plastic cap on the Infusor intake portal.

4. The 2cc per hour rate is barely noticeable.  If you are using 3 cc per hour and notice coughing or choking, then call us to decrease to 2cc per hour.

5. The Infusor can be placed on the bed next to you while you sleep or it can be attached to your arm or bed clothes.

6. In the morning, disconnect the appliance from the Infusor, brush the appliance and tubing with toothpaste.  Soak the appliance all day in a glass of warm water which has a tablet of denture cleanser. 

7. If the tubing or Infusor becomes worn out, detached or clogged, call for adjustments or replacements ( every 2-4 weeks.)
